My Personal Favorite

The idea behind My Personal Favorite:

A long time elapses between conferences and readings, and during that interval, I cross paths with very few writers. I wanted to come up with a question that would allow me (and anyone reading this blog) to get to know our fellow poets.

The question is: At this moment, which of your poems is your personal favorite, and why?

This question appeals to me because the answer does not rely on the arbitrary judgment of any other reader, critic, or editor. The poem these poets choose to share with us may have been rejected multiple times, or it may be a Pushcart Prize winner. The only thing that matters here is that the poet loves it.

In addition to My Personal Favorite, I post book reviews, writing prompts, and occasional essays.

In 2027, my fifth book, a novella, Nine Days Left, will be released by the University of Wisconsin’s Cornerstone Press.

Cheers,

Kelly
