Happy New Year!
In February, I will be resuming the blog, but in the meantime, I thought I would ask about your favorite poems.
Do you have a current favorite? It can be one of your own poems, or just a great poem you’d like to share with the group.

I’ll start us off with this one below by Bob Hicok, which made me cry the other day when it appeared in my inbox. I love the last line and the way it subtly circles back to the title. Also, the way the poem asks the reader to inhabit so many different moments within the moment. We are the pipe, the water, the man, the moon, the firefighter, and then ultimately we become the questions that arise “if the silence of a shadow of a life// is all we have.”
Stunning.
